NCDC Nepal
National Conservation and Development Centre (NCDC) is a non-governmental, non- political, non-profitable and autonomous organization, established in 2005. It was registered in the District Administration Office (CDO), Kathmandu on June 8, 2005 (2062 Jestha 25) and the registration number is 653. Over the past 18 years, NCDC has successfully undertaken more than five reforestation and sustainable rural development projects through active engagement of local communities. NCDC is working in the field of forest conservation and sustainable rural development by implementing various activities related to afforestation, reforestation, renewable energy and capacity enhancement of community forest user groups (CFUGs).
NCDC is committed to rendering cohesive support in forest conservation and sustainable rural development through interventions of afforestation, reforestation, renewable energy, and capacity enhancement of the community forest users' groups (CFUGs). In doing so, the project also attempts to undertake substantial rural development activities such as drinking water, health and sanitation, school support at the cost of local communities' contribution toward forest conservation.
Objectives
- Support to conserve the forest along with biodiversity while preserving the integrity of the forests
- Improve living conditions of members of rural households by providing livelihood options
- Enhance local people’s knowledge, understanding, and attitude toward forests, biodiversity, and environment conservation; and
- Conduct ecological and socio-economic research to contribute to the development of society.
