Environmental Education and Social Mobilization

Good education imparts the relevant knowledge, refines perception and facilitates attitudinal changes, which is absolutely crucial for a project where community is engaged. NCDC implements all the conservation and sustainable rural development activities with the engagement of the local people. The ultimate aim of conservation education is to ensure that effective actions are taken by the local people themselves to conserve and develop their village. Environmental Education helps understand how their decisions and actions affect the environment, builds knowledge and skills necessary to address complex environmental issues, as well as ways we can take action to keep our environment healthy and sustainable for the future. Similarly, social mobilization is the process of bringing together local communities to raise awareness of and demand for environment conservation, to assist in the delivery of resources and services, and to strengthen community participation for sustainability and self-reliance. NCDC gives considerable focus on environmental education and social mobilization through informal education, workshops, home visits, training, exposure visits etc.
